Marriage is one of the most important decisions of a person’s life after all your whole life depends upon it. Sometimes even a second is enough to find your soulmate but often it takes years and years to understand a person completely. Now, the concern which arises here is why does society expect a person to get engaged at a particular age? How can a community bind a person to find another person in a limited period of time? The standard Indian age of getting married for male and female is 28 and 25 respectively. Once you cross this age, people start welcoming you with a certain set of questions, with a negative perception. No matter how much you explain, how much you try to justify, you are already considered at fault. The thing which our society needs to accept is that it is completely a person’s individual choice to decide when he/she wants to get married or in fact whether he/she wants to get married or not.
